DARKANE rose out of the ashes of Agretator, an ill-fated yet talented band giving Watchtower (of course you remember them!) a run for their money. When Agretator became history, drummer Peter Wildoer and guitarist Christofer Malmström teamed up with fellow six stringer Klas Ideberg and bass player Jörgen Löfberg. This new outfit immediately began to crystallize a more aggressive, straight-forward sound, both technical and brutal. The combination of Peter Wildoer's unique drumming style and a steady flood-wave of blistering guitar work created an eerie feeling that can only be described as... Darkane!
After the addition of singer Andreas Sydow (who replaced Lawrence Mackrory who sang on the debut "Rusted Angel" - an hyper-fast, technical Thrash opus!) the band released two other mind-boggling albums: "Insanity" (the name says it all!) and "Expanding Senses". Never before you heard such a unique mixture of technique, brutality, wickedness and musicality.
Now, after three years of silence, it is finally time to get loud again! "Layers Of Lies" will crush the ears of every listener. DARKANE manages to combine the attitude of "Rusted Angel" with the progress of "Expanding Senses" creating a powerful masterpiece in dynamic, technically oriented heavy Thrash Metal with more rage and fury than any Death Metal band. Every song is a blast, each has its own special appeal with the title track highlighting an hunting chorus.
Latest News - October 2007: Darkane would like to welcome Jens Broman as the new vocalist in Darkane. Jens will take over the vocal duties after Andreas Sydow left the band in August, and Jens has recently been seen on the vocal spot in Constucdead and The Defaced (he will continue to sing in both bands). Jens grew up in Glumslöv south of Helsingborg (as a good friend of Björn Strid from Soilwork), but now lives in Stockholm. His live debut with Darkane will take place in three weeks at the Progpower Scandinavia festival in Copenhagen, Denmark (November 10th). Darkane has been rehearsing hard lately and are very excited to work together with Jens. He has a huge vocal diversity and we are pretty sure that fans of Darkane won´t be disapointed.
